When is the show? The show is from 8:00-10:00pm on every last Thursday of every month. We will not have a show in the November/December since the last Thursdays land on holidays; and we will be back in January!
Can I buy food and drink? Waid's serves delicious Haitian cuisine with a full bar. The owner, Waid, is a huge supporter of local artists, and we are thankful to have this lovely venue. Therefore, we ask that you support him by purchasing at least a beverage, dinner, and/or appetizer.
What is the format of the show? Each unique show will feature 3-5 professional and semi-professional dancers and musicians of many art forms, including Middle Eastern dance, with an occasional student performer. After the show, we will be spinning some of the hottest Middle Eastern and world tunes that will have you up and dancing!
What if I would like to perform? The performance spots are filled by invitation. However, we are particularly looking for dancers of other art forms besides belly dance and musicians! If you would like consideration, you are most welcome to contact us. Please tell us a bit about yourself, including your name, art form, # of years of experience, website address (if applicable), and any other information that you think would be helpful. (Additionally, whenever there is a request, we offer one, open-performance spot per show. This is the first performance spot of the show. It is a non-paid performance spot, intended to provide students, hobbyists, and others an opportunity to perform in front of a live audience, for practice or just for fun. Please let us know if you are interested in participating in this way.)
How do I contact the show organizers? You may contact either Caliana or Mellilah. Caliana - caliana@clearwire.net Mellilah- mail@mellilah.com
I'm performing. When do I arrive, and what do I need to know? You will receive a "performer information" sheet a few weeks before the show! Please arrive by 7:40. Thanks.
