About
As an instructor of belly dance,
for a long time I have wanted
to create a bookclub
specifically for belly dancers to
add another dimension to my
students' education and
further my own learning as
well. So, now I'm giving it a go.
I hope that this bookclub will
educate, inspire, and bring
dancers together within their
communities. The bookclub is
open to all who appreciate,
love, and practice the art of
belly dance.
Books
The topics of books will include,
but are not limited to, history,
culture, anatomy, music,
customs & traditions,
psychology, style, technique,
and famous people, as related
to belly dance. I have
created a list of some books
that have been
recommended to me and
others that I have read and
enjoyed. This list is a starting
point and will grow with your
input and as new books are
published.
Discussion Forum
The discussion forum is for you.
Please share your thoughts,
questions and answers, and
opinions on the books we read.
Format
To begin, I have selected the
first two books. However,
members will vote on future
books via an online vote. We
will read a new book every
other month, however, the
discussion forums will remain
open for anyone to join at any
time.
Meet Locally
I recommend meeting locally
within your community, while
